WHY PEOPLE DRESS
We are all born naked. Each of us gets naked at least once a day; in
the shower, bed, etc. Many people still live naked in both high class
resorts and primitive tribes alike. However ‘developed’ society treats
naked people as criminals. Our world has taken a step backward from our
nude lifestyle which has prevailed throughout most of mankind’s
existence. But tolerance is the true measurement of a developed society.
Many of us don’t remember the freedom we felt as a toddler running
around the house or back yard nude. We had no sense of modesty until we
were told that the unclothed human body is shameful or unclean. This is
an example of modern day delusion, caused by following the crowd. Just
because you are told that smoking is good, does that mean you should do
it? Current society is so quick to say a naked person is shameful or
obscene but in fact, it is the covering of the body that causes shame
and lust. Unclothed body parts do not bother anybody accept those who
have been trained to be offended by them.
We wear clothes every day because we’re conforming to an inherited
tradition. This tradition is based on flawed logic because it teaches us
we should be ashamed of our body if unclothed, thus creating a negative
body image and inequality based upon what somebody is or isn’t wearing.
A person must be allowed to choose the lifestyle that allows them to be
happy and free. We should be able to enjoy our life without having to be
imprisoned by covering our only body with artificial garments.
A naturist is an ordinary person who does normal things especially
outdoor activities, only without clothes. After going nude for a while,
one starts to see clothing as something superficial and even offensive
by comparison, designed to ‘mask’ or conceal one’s identity. Clothes
were originally invented to protect one’s self from harsh environmental
conditions, and they should not be a requirement to live. No country
will ever have ‘freedom’ until we are free to wake up without clothes
and roam freely.

BENEFITS OF NUDITY
-
When the clothes fall, the walls of discrimination fall.
Without
clothes, people are no longer judged by profession or fashion style.
Regardless of your profession: doctor, blue collar, white collar,
farmer, lawyer, homeless, etc. you are treated as an equal. This also
creates a more healthy and happy social atmosphere, since everybody is
on ‘equal ground’.
-
Sexual assaults are reduced.
It’s no longer a mystery
what ‘lies beneath’, thereby reducing the tendency towards sexual
assaults.
-
A lack of clothing allows for optimized exercise.
Any form of
exercise can be done more efficiently without clothing restricting your
movements.
-
Less clothes to pack for vacation.
-
Less time & money spent on
laundry & clothes.
-
The body’s temperature control works better without
unnecessary clothes.
No more sticky clothing causing body temperatures
to rise, and skin to chafe.
-
Nudity at home saves money on air
conditioning.
Being nude keeps your body cool in hot weather, vastly
reducing the amount of air-conditioning needed. The human body does not
require any clothes at all if the temperature is more than 70F (21C).
Even in cooler temperatures you can keep warm by exercising.
-
Going nude
saves electricity.
Wearing fewer clothes equals fewer clothes to wash
and dry.
-
Going nude helps save the environment!
The manufacturing of
clothes uses energy and depletes the earth’s resources. Used laundry
detergent from washing clothes causes serious soil and water pollution -
killing fish, plants, etc. Washing clothes frequently shortens the
lifespan of the clothes, thus causing a need to buy new clothes more
frequently, thereby contributing to environmental destruction.
-
Swimming
nude is better.
No more struggling to keep your swimsuit on in the
water, dealing with sand in your suit or drying it out. Top places to go
skinny dipping
here.
-
Less parasites and dirt.
Scientists have discovered that one
of the three types of lice that prey on us live in our clothes, which
harbors dirt and specific parasites as well.
-
Public nudity promotes body
acceptance.
Being nude in public helps people to accept their own body
as harmless and natural, thereby resulting in a healthy “body image”,
rejecting the notion of body shame which is taught by society.

MYTHS ABOUT NUDITY
"Nudity harms children"
There is no research to support this claim. A five year study has shown
the effects of social nudity on children to be benign and totally
harmless to those involved. Another psychology professor has discovered
that children from nudist households have healthier attitudes towards
their self-image and sex than non-nudist children; also that such
children delay sexual activity longer, are less likely to develop
anorexia or bulimia and less likely to engage in promiscuous behavior.
"Nudity is offensive"
This is only what were are taught to believe, whilst it is the covering
of the body that causes promiscuity and insecurity. Past civilizations
have proven we can live a full life without clothes. Consider
Michelangelo, and the original Olympics, which were done nude for
hundreds of years.
"God created clothes"
This would imply that God had made a mistake while creating our bodies,
therefore it is impossible.
"The sun is bad for your skin"
Exposure to the sun allows absorption of vitamin D through your skin, as
well as strengthening muscles and healing many sicknesses and diseases.
Many doctors and dermatologists recommend sunbathing nude to yield
maximum benefits. “Clothing only prevents the sun’s beneficial effects
and causes heat and sweat”.
"Nudists live in colonies"
In fact, there is nothing still existing which can be considered as a
‘nudist colony’. Instead most countries; especially in Europe, Oceana,
Brazil and most states in the US & Canada - have naturist (nudist)
resorts, ranging from one star campgrounds to luxurious four star
resorts, in which people may choose to wear or not to wear clothes as
they see fit - and partake in a wide range of mostly outdoor recreation
such as swimming, volleyball, water-volleyball, ping pong, golf,
dancing, karaoke, concerts, body painting contests, etc.
"Naturist (nudist) resorts are sex clubs"
Naturist resorts all have rules prohibiting sexual activity of any kind,
providing a wholesome family atmosphere. In fact, the average naturist
resort is comparable to a church picnic except for the lack of clothing.
"My wife and kids would not be safe at a nudist resort"
All naturist resorts worldwide not only have rules prohibiting sexual
misconduct, but many also screen their members with background checks
and maintain a wholesome family atmosphere in which everybody is
friendly and respected, as well as working together as a family to
report suspicious activity. Nudist husbands have said they feel safer
having their wife at a nudist resort than at a non-nudist resort.

FACTS ABOUT NUDITY:
-
Clothes-free travel is the fastest growing segment
of the travel industry;
and travel is the world’s #1 industry. Naturism is a $450-million-a-year
industry, worldwide (more
here.) A constantly increasing number of people, especially full
time professionals seeking an escape are discovering the exhilaration of
checking into a naturist resort, beach or clothing optional event and
leaving their clothes behind.
-
Today there are thousands of nude beaches and
thousands more clothing optional holiday resorts;
Covering at least 30 countries worldwide - first beginning in 1891. Find
one here or
here.
-
Clothes are artificial.
We were not born with clothes and making them involves cutting down
trees and polluting the environment.
-
Humans are the only species in our solar system who
cover their body.
We may also be the only ones in our galaxy to wear clothes. Why should
we be the special ones?
-
Nudity in religion:
In Alexander The Great's time there were a number of ascetic / religious
sects in India whose members walked around naked as part of their
spiritual discipline and Buddha was also a member of one of these nude
sects before forming his own religion. These groups have lasted 2,000
years and some still exist today.
-
Famous people and nudity:
Hercules and Michelangelo both lived in the nude. Albert Einstein and
Benjamin Franklin had pro-nudity views. Some of today’s celebrities
enjoy nudity at home or at the beach, such as Christina Aguilera, Kelly
Clarkston, Shakira, Jack Nicholson and Jeff Goldblum and many more.
-
Nude communal bathing is famous in Japan.
Japan is blessed with natural volcanic hot springs. Nude family and
mixed-gender communal bathing have been approved by prevailing religions
for over 2,000 years and still exists in rural areas. The concept of the
hot tub originated from traditional nude bathing. Also complete nudity
is common and sometimes required in the sauna throughout all of Europe,
especially in Germany, Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands; which is
done in mixed groups of men & women together.
-
The original Olympic Games were done naked from 776
B.C. – 393 A.D.
There are also still 2-3 groups that host small Olympic competitions in
the nude every year. (The annual nude College Greek Athletic Meet in
Florida and the annual Nude Beach Olympics in Maslin Beach, Australia.)
-
“Gymnasium” is a Greek word that means "a place to
train naked".
-
Full nudity in most Western countries will warrant
nothing more than a verbal notice to dress.
It may be worth the cause to try walking naked randomly sometime and
then dress if requested. However in some middle-eastern countries full
nudity in public is punishable by death. So any amount of conservative
pro-nudity influence (such as a T-shirt with words promoting nudity) in
this region may help open people’s minds.
-
Those who try it like it.
Most who try it agree it is healthy, fun, liberating and "easy to forget
that you’re naked."

QUOTES
"Being natural and matter-of-fact about nudity prevents your children
from developing an attitude of shame or disgust about the human body"
-
Dr. Lee Salk
"Obscenity, indecency, vulgarity, these are strictly confined to man. He
invented them. Among the higher animals there is no trace of them. They
hide nothing. They are unashamed." - Mark Twain
“Wearing clothes to swim is a Victorian invention, prior to that no-one
would have done such a silly thing. Swimming pools that run naturist
sessions frequently report that the pool filters need less cleaning due
to not being blocked by costume fibers; they also need fewer chemicals
to treat the water due to them not being affected by detergent from
costumes. It’s very rare that somebody who goes skinny dipping does not
enjoy it, and at least 40% of Americans have done so in a mixed group of
men & women. The body's temperature control actually works better
without clothes in the way. This is obvious on a hot day or when working
hard, such as climbing in the mountains.” – Taylorbk
“To be offended by the visual appearance of another person is prejudice,
akin to racism. The right to exist, uncovered, should hold precedence
over the right not to view this, for the objection is irrational.” “Your
body is natural. It is bare, it is raw; it is intriguing; it is
beautiful; it is you! Delve not in to prejudice irrationalities! Ride
the glories of brilliant enlightenment.” - Terri Sue Web |

THE MESSAGE
For centuries people have been living naked harmoniously, but
in recent times governments have been mandating legislature regarding
which type of bathing suit or dress is acceptable and enforcing public
"morals" dictating which parts of the human anatomy are "decent" or
"indecent", thereby teaching body shame and creating a materialistic
culture dependant the destruction of the earth's natural resources to
create garments of clothing. The naturist (nudist) lifestyle promotes
equality and freedom. Usually, nudists have decreased incidents of
sexual assaults and are less promiscuous due to the ‘equalizing’ effect
of communal nudity. When the clothes ‘fall’, the walls of prejudice
fall. Naturism is good for the old and the young alike, because when
you’re constantly exposed to ‘what lies beneath’, you’re less likely to
take advantage of somebody. However, it is the covering of the body that
causes shame and lust. It’s a fact that the world’s most successful
businessmen & women are those who dare to be different. Nudists are
different and often the happiest people around. Our body is the only
body we will ever have. Self expression is a basic human right and we
must be allowed to have a choice what we do with our own body. So why
must we be forced to wear clothes every second in order to be a member
of society? It is time to end this type of restrictive thinking, and
allow us as a civilization to make our own choice how we dress, or to
remain undressed.
Please help make this dream a reality by wearing our pro-nudity
t-shirts, thereby opening people minds to try naturism and also to read
this article, making way for a possible future in which we will all have
"body freedom", where the clothed and the unclothed can roam freely
alike. Organize public campaigns and rallies supporting the acceptance
of nudity. Write or email your local politician stating that to mandate
that people must wear clothes is a violation of our basic human right to
self expression and of the 14th ammendment. Criminalizing those who
"dare" to go around in a "natural state of undress" is illegal and
inhibitive of self-acceptance and societal development. This is a global
effort to promote the acceptance of nudity in all countries (public and
private, indoor and outdoor). Most developed of countries have laws
against discrimination; however a naked person still has no rights!!!
Stop the discrimination against naked people and start opening people’s
minds. You might just get what you ask for in your area, as several
parts of the world have already done.
